Working in close collaboration with our clients, Mon, and Selwyn council, the proposed layout has been developed to maximise visibility towards Springs Road whilst also ensuring engagement with surrounding pedestrian and cycle links that form throughfares into the development. Pockets of landscape are formed between buildings to inform a variety of informal and formal spaces that can be used for outdoor seating & dinning. This valued outdoor amenity, combined with a deliberate strategy of maximising pedestrian permeability, aids the creation of a focal destination that is intended to act as a catalyst for the regeneration of Prebbleton village centre.

As the proposals are setback from the main road, the central buildings have been designed with sculptural forms that draw views into the development with sightlines and signage focused on a dividing pedestrian link and landscaped pocket. Bordering the east and west sides of the site, brick linear buildings contrast with the dark metal cladding & timber fins of central development.
